Alan Carson Alan Carson has been a pioneer in the home inspection industry since 1978. As a founder of Carson Dunlop and past president of the American Society of Home Inspectors, Alan has focused on four businesses: home inspection, commercial inspection through CDW Engineering, the Carson Dunlop Home Inspection Training Program for home inspectors, and Horizon Inspection Software.
Mike Casey Michael Casey, ACI, MCI is the principal of Michael Casey & Associates; a national A.M. Best recommended consulting firm based in San Diego, and Director of Education with Home Inspection University. Mike is past president of the California Real Estate Inspection Association (1994/1995) and of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) (2002). Mike is multi-code certified by the ICC and IAPMO. He is a licensed general, plumbing and mechanical contractor in several states and a Virginia Certified Home Inspector. Besides co-authoring several books in the Code Check series and authoring the booklet and smartphone APP Code History Master , Michael has authored numerous other books, has taught home and building inspection nationwide and has an expert witness and claims consulting practice throughout North America since 1987. Mike has inspected over 10,000 buildings in his over 30-years career in the inspection profession as well as been consultant or expert regarding hundreds of claims for both claimants and defendants.

Andy French Andy French is a Master CREIA Inspector and an ASHI Certified Inspector. He joined CREIA in 1995 and is completing his 25th year as a real estate inspector. He has been Vice Chairman and Treasurer of statewide CREIA. He has been the CREIA chapter president and the ASHI chapter president (twice) in San Diego. He has presented at a number of San Diego chapter meetings, a North County Temecula Valley dinner meeting, and a number of toolboxes. He has presented 3 times at ASHI's Inspection World. He holds the LEED Accredited Professional designation from the US Green Building Council. He has 4 certifications from the International Code Council.
Masood Gaskari PEE was established in 1986 by Mr. Massood Gaskari, an expert civil engineer with wealth of practical knowledge in the field of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering. Prior to forming the forensic engineering services company, Mr. Gaskari established himself as a well-educated
graduate of University of Colorado, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management and also one in civil engineering in the years 1977 and 1979.
Soon after graduation, Mr. Gaskari became a staff engineer for a major engineering consulting firm in Denver, Colorado and then moving-up the ladder to the project management position within the firm, while mastering the art of civil, soil, and structural engineering. In the years to follow, Mr. Gaskari determined that a practical engineer needs to experience the challenges of construction, and therefore, turned to the construction industry. He managed several large construction projects, coordinating all aspects of construction management, from cost estimating and project scheduling, to managing project conflicts and coordinating all aspects of project activities.
In 1986, Mr. Gaskari started Private Eyes Engineers, as a small engineering firm specializing in structural inspections of existing buildings. To date, Mr. Gaskari prides himself on maintaining a staff of highly skilled and intelligent engineers and technicians who are dedicated to providing
the best forensic engineering service in the fields of civil, structural, and geotechnical. In 2005, Mr. Gaskari established Civil Engineering Design Group as a sister company. Civil Engineering Design Group is an engineering design company which provides engineering services in the
field of land development and structural design.
Douglas Hansen Douglas is the principal author of the Code Check series of field guides to building codes and Electrical Inspection of Existing Dwellings. He began working with Code Check in 1998, when founder Redwood Kardon  asked him to assist in editing the first edition of Code Check Electrical. Douglas eventually moved into the principal authorship role for the series.

Douglas is a licensed general contractor and holds numerous inspection certifications. For several years, he taught residential and commercial electrical codes at the College of San Mateo. He was formerly a principle member on the technical committee for Electrical Systems Maintenance of the National Fire Protection Association. From 2013 to 2019, he worked for the City of Santa Clara, where he was the supervising MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) plans examiner and inspection supervisor. He has authored dozens of magazine articles and books. He has served as an expert witness in cases involving contractor and inspector standard of care, building codes, and construction defects, and been certified as an expert in Superior Courts in several counties. He provides seminars around the country to inspectors, building departments, and electricians on building and electrical codes, construction defects, and inspection techniques.

Peter Hopkins Peter Hopkins has operated a successful home inspection company since 1996 (www.inspecdoc.com) and has personally performed over 7000 property inspections. The company expanded into infrared in 2005, with the opening of SoCal Infrared (www.socalinfrared.com) and has found success  in many areas of diversification but more specifically on the ability to further diagnose moisture conditions and Energy problems identified on his property inspections. He is the Co-Founder of United Infrared (www.UnitedInfrared.com), a national network of contract thermographers which includes application-specific training and business coaching in a multitude of applications related to infrared technology. Peter is a Level III Certified Thermographer, ICC Code Certified Building Inspector, Certified HERS Energy Rater, SewerScan Inspector, Equine Thermography trained and is licensed with the California Horse Racing Board as an Assistant to Veterinarian. Peter lives in Southern California with his wife and two children.
Will Johnson Will Johnson is a certified CREIA Home Inspector founded Inspection Perfection in San Diego, CA. in 2005. Will expanded his certification and services in energy assessments in 2010. Certified Calif. HERS rater, DOE Home Energy Assessor and BPI building Analyst. These services include
home energy assessments and third party testing and verification as a HERs rater.
Will includes a basic energy assessment in his home inspections. Also offers add-on and stand alone energy assessment. In 2019, Will Johnson initiated CREIA's Energy Efficiency Committee in developing a promising path for energy efficiency for CREIA members. Will has built strategic partnerships to foster energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

Dave Pace  David Pace began his construction career working for a remodeling company in the San Francisco Easy Bay area. He worked his up to become a Project Coordinator for a construction company specializing in concrete structures. In 1993 he left the construction side of building and founded Pace Inspection Services. Since then he has performed over 9,000 inspections. While a member of CREIA, David served in many areas of leadership including twice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Since 1997 he has served as Chairman of the CREIA Legislative Committee. Over the last 3 ½ years he has worked with Jerry Desmond, our Legislative Advocate in Sacramento, on numerous pieces of legislation and has provided testimony to various legislative committees in Sacramento.
Jay Seidel  Jay Seidel is a professor and chair of the Drone Technology program at Fullerton College. He has developed curriculum on drone training and the applications of drones in various industries that meet NIST standards. He has been involved in aviation for more than 10 years. The Army veteran and Orange County native is a member of the National FAA Safety Team and has published a textbook on drone training.
Keith Vreeken I’ve been a home inspector in San Luis Obispo County since 1996. I’m a master Inspector and one of the founding members of our local San Luis Obispo chapter. I’m an ICC certified residential building inspector, an ICC certified plumbing inspector. I’m also a California licensed general contractor, electrical contractor and concrete contractor. I’m a FIRE certified fireplace and chimney inspector, an AII certify manufactured home inspector, a NADRA deck inspector, and a TRI Tile roof installer. I have been a court approved expert witness for both construction defect and home inspector cases throughout the state of California, specializing in building codes, standards of practice, standards of care, and the coded ethics since the late 1990s. I am currently serving as vice chair of the CREIA state board of directors and have served in the past as chapter president in my local San Luis Obispo chapter.
Skip Walker Skip Walker, is an ICC Certified Combination Residential Building Inspector, an ICC Certified California Combination Residential Building Inspector, a CREIA Master Inspector (MCI), an ASHI Certified Inspector (ACI), and a FIRE Certified Fireplace Inspector. He has presented at a number of local, state regional and national ASHI and CREIA conferences, the National Association of Realtors®, the California Association of Realtors® and the New York City Council Building and Safety Committee on smoke alarm performance and CO poisoning issues.

Skip has served in numerous capacities for CREIA and ASHI and written extensively on smoke alarms, CO issues, deck safety and general inspection issues. He is the recipient of the 2014 ASHI Philip C. Monahan Award, ASHI's highest honor, the 2014 ASHI President's Award, the 2014 CREIA John Daly Award, CREIA's highest honor and the 2011 CREIA Inspector of the Year. In 2016,  CREIA  named Skip to the list of the 40 Most Influential Inspectors of the Last 40 Years. Skip's home has ONLY photoelectric alarms installed.
